Dear
Parents, Families, and Friends of Immaculate Conception
School:
We are
once again using the Scrip program as a “painless” way to
raise funds for the school. For those of you who didn’t
participate in the program last year because you didn’t
understand the program, Scrip is simply a word that means,
“substitute money” – in other words; scrip is gift
certificates from national and local retailers. They’re the
same gift certificates that you buy at the store. Many
popular retailers participate in our scrip program including
Dillard’s, Macy’s (Foleys), Kohl’s, JC Penney, The Gap, Tom
Thumb, Toys R Us, Shell/Texaco, Burger King, Pizza Hut,
Chili’s, Barnes & Noble, Starbucks, Blockbuster, Cinemark, and
many, many others.
You’re
probably asking yourself how these stores help us raise
money. It’s simple -- scrip participating retailers give I.C.
School a rebate for selling their gift cards. And scrip is
exciting, because everybody wins:
·
The retailers
get cash up front and repeat business…
·
You get a
powerful fundraising alternative that involves no
selling…
·
I.C. gets a
regular source of revenue.
The
beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household
shopping dollars to work. You earn money for our school
without spending a single additional penny. Just spend your
regular shopping dollars with scrip at the stores that
participate in the scrip program.
We are
asking parents to simply complete and return the attached
Enrollment Form to the school office. Order forms will be sent
home to all families who enroll in the program, and extra
order forms will be available in the school office. Beginning
next week, all orders received by 3:30 on Mondays will be
ready for pick-up after school on Thursdays of each week.
The
Immaculate Conception scrip program is a simple and effective
fundraising program, which will help keep our tuition in
check! Last year our school earned almost $1,000 – all with
gift cards purchased for items that you normally would’ve just
paid cash for. We urge you to take this opportunity to use
scrip to buy the things you normally would buy, and help our
school at the same time. Remember – there IS NO EXTRA COST TO
YOU!
A list
of supporting retailers will be available at all the different
class meetings coming up in the next few weeks. The retailer
list is updated by Scrip often, so be sure to call or check
the website if you have a question.
Sincerely,
Kathy Bosworth - Scrip Coordinator
